622,646. Photographic film containers. GEVAERT PHOTO-PRODUCTEN N. V. March 8, 1946, No. 7250. Convention date, Nov. 7, 1941. [Class 98 (i)] A spool-less container for roll films having one or more springs extending in a circumferential direction within the container and engaging the film strip so that it winds on itself to form a roll engaged by the spring or springs, is characterized in that the spring or each spring is of corrugated or waved form throughout its curved length, so that it has several points of support against the inner side of the container body. As shown, an end 4 of a spring 1 of flat or circular cross-section, is fixed near the velvetlined film entrance 5. The spring may be waved or star-shaped, made of metal or a springy synthetic organic material such as ethyl cellulose, polyvinyl chloride or polyamide composition. Its free end 3 may lie inside the case, or pass through a slot into a pocket 8. The parts 2 of the spring touching the case may engage a locating groove in the inside wall.
