Abstract
620,154. Frictional lighters. WALLIMANN, I. June 6, 1946, No. 17156. Convention date, Sept. 13, 1945. [Class 75(iii)] In a frictional lighter comprising a thick-walled body 1 and a pivoted solid cover 13 projecting somewhat outside the body at 13<SP>1</SP> and having a hole 15 which covers the wick 17, an initially tensioned flat spring 14 presses the cover down on the body. The cover 13 is rotatably mounted on a stud 11 which does not penetrate to the outside of the body 1 and the flat spring 14 acts upwardly on the cover at a point beneath and beyond the stud 11. A lug 14<SP>1</SP> on the spring 14 lies in a groove in the cover 13 and prevents the cover from slipping off the stud 11. A friction wheel 6 is secured to the spindle of a milled driving roller 4 mounted in the side of the lighter and a hole 7 is provided in the top part of the body 1 to house a spring urged plunger 8 and a flint 10. the axis of the flint being offset from a parallel line passing through the centre of the friction wheel. A cross hole 12 on the stud 11 coincides with the hole 7.
