Abstract
619,936. Momentary-contact switches; retractive switches. AVIMO, Ltd., and STEVENS, G. G. M. [Representative of STEVENS, H. C. M.]. March 23, 1945, No. 13397/48. Divided out of 619,851. [Class 38 (v)] A switch which has either a momentary action or a sustained action, has a spring - loaded plunger o which carries a spring-loaded pawl t. This pawl engages a projection s on one of a pair of contact-carrying spring blades q. When the plunger o is moved through part of its travel the pawl t presses one blade into contact with the other, the con tacts remaining closed so long as the plunger is held in this position When the plunger is fully depressed the pawl t presses on one blade to closethe contacts and then swings up allowing the blade to return to reopen the contacts. During the return movement of the plunger, the pawl has no effect on the blades. To control the extent of the movement of the plunger a rotatable escutcheon u has a plate v with radial notches which permit the passage of a pin x when the escutcheon is in one position and acts as a stop when the escutcheon is turned to another position.
