[Classes 35 and 38 (iv)] The speeds of a plurality of eddy-current clutches driven from a constant speed source cre controlled simultaneously by means of mechanically coupled field rheostats 3, 5, each having series and shunt trimming rheostats 4a, 4b, and 6a, 6b, respectively, which provide an independent control of each coupling within limits set by the main rheostats. It is stated that these independent controls are graded to suit the characteristic of the drive. Specification 568,730 is referred to.
