618,890. Fluid-actuated valves. PEEBLES & CO., Ltd., and WATSON, A. M. July 23, 1946, No. 21978. [Class 135] In an automatic change-over valve device for connection to alternative sources of compressed gas, diaphragm-operated valves 1, 1A are spring-loaded differentially in valve-opening direction and have a common outlet 6 and means for effecting exchange loading of the valves. As shown, the valve 1 is heavily loaded by the spring 2 through the cam 2B connected to the lever 5 and is thus opened to allow gas to pass to the outlet and also to act on the diaphragm 3A, which is lightly loaded by the spring 2A through the cam 2C, to close the valve 1A. When the supply through the valve 1 is exhausted, the pressure on the diaphragm 3A falls and the valve 1A is opened. The lever 5 is turned through 180 degrees so that diaphragm 3A is heavily loaded and diaphragm 3 lightly loaded, and the pressure of the gas passing through the valve 1A acts on the diaphragm 3 and closes the valve 1.
