Abstract
A vitamin-containing fodder lime preparation is obtained by saturating an absorbent with a solution of a vitamin particularly an oily solution of a vitamin, incorporating with the mixture of absorbent and vitamin a solution of an alkyl cellulose, especially methyl cellulose, granulating and drying the resulting mixture to produce granules provided with a protective coating of alkyl cellulose, and incorporating the resultant granules with the mineral basic substances of the fodder lime preparation. Preferably, substances adapted to increase the wetting action, such as water glass or other soluble salts of bivalent or polyvalent acids, are added to the alkyl cellulose solution. According to an example, lucerne meal is kneaded with an oily solution of vitamin D and then saturated with a 5 per cent methyl cellulose solution to which water glass solution has been added. The mixture is granulated and dried at a temperature preferably not exceeding 50 DEG C. This granulate is mixed with feed lime and with other admixtures. Other specified absorbents are camomile, milfoil or milled fruits such as meal of anise, fennel, juniper berries, meal of calamus radix, or animal charcoal.ALSO:A vitamin-containing fodder lime preparation is obtained by saturating an absorbent with a solution of a vitamin particularly an oily solution of a vitamin, incorporating with the mixture of absorbent and vitamin a solution of an alkyl cellulose, especially methyl cellulose, granulating and drying the resulting mixture to produce granules provided with a protective coating of alkyl cellulose, and incorporating the resultant granules with the mineral basic substances of the fodder lime preparation.
