Abstract

616,895. Roller-way conveyers. VICKERSARMSTRONGS, Ltd., and ROBSON, T. Sept. 17, 1946, No. 27894. [Class 78 (i)] A roller-way conveyer for use with a machine such as a press P includes an end portion comprising rollers 1 carried by frame members 2, 3 and arranged to move away from the machine P towards a fixed roller track 6, and an intermediate portion, comprising rollers 4 mounted on links 5 and supported by bars 7, adapted by folding to the position shown in Fig. 3, to permit the movement of the movable end portion. The links 5 are formed with abutments 9, 10 which by engaging the adjacent link, limit the folding and unfolding movement of the intermediate portion of the track. In an alternative form, the rollers 4 are guided by slots in fixed frame members to move vertically, and are supported by longitudinal members secured to the movable portion of the track, the supporting members being so shaped that normally the rollers 4 are level with the rollers 1 but as the movable portion moves away from the machine the rollers 4 fall to pass beneath the movable portion.
