[Classes 20(ii) and 20(iv)] Rafters or like beams are built up of light metal members 2 and intervening timber 1 of less depth so that the metal members can be clamped together directly and indirectly through the wood at different levels. Flanges 2a which may be flush with the wood may increase the breadth and offsetting of the metal members to form a triangular space increasing the stiffness. The rafters are secured to ridge and wall plates by angle plates.
