Abstract

616,294. Optical-projection apparatus. HANSEL, C. W. April 12, 1946, No. 11248. [Class 97 (i)] The image on a screen is protected from stray light by shields on all sides of the screen and by a mirror in which the image is viewed. As shown, the viewing mirror 1 can tilt about an axis 2 and is supported by members 3, 4. Screens 13, 14 are provided at the sides, others at back and front. The screen 6 is mounted in a stage 5 and the image is projected on to it, if opaque, by reflection from the mirror 1 or, if translucent, by reflection from a mirror 8 below. This mirror is surrounded by light shields and the light beam enters through an aperture 12 adjacent which may be placed the lens of a diascopic or episcopic projector or a projection lens associated with a cathode-ray tube. The screen 6 may be fluorescent.
