[Class 18] A container 5 for dispensing powdered substances is provided with a convex raised portion 11 having a dispensing opening 14 beneath which lies a slide 15 operated by a rivet head 16. The slide is preferably made from spring brass and the inherent tendency of the slide to straighten out causes tight frictional contact of the slide with the underside of the raised portion 11.
