[Class 40 (iv)] To secure improved high-frequency response a moulded coil former for the operating coil of a moving coil loudspeaker comprises a plurality of coaxial sections of different dia. meter in which the stepped connecting portions form compliances allowing relative vibration between adjacent sections. In the embodi. ment described, the coil former is secured to the diaphragm by the conical portion n and comprises three integrally-formed tubular sections f, g, h, which diminish in diameter and radial thickness away from the diaphragm, but increase in axial length. The section f serves as the attachment for the flexible centering disc q and the operating coil is carried by section h.
