Abstract

613,209. Two-part couplings. ASHLEY ACCESSORIES, Ltd., and MILLICAN, R. M. June 5, 1946, No. 17025. [Class 38 (i)] A connector for electric irons, domestic appliances and the like is provided with two alternative cable entry openings 22, 23, at the top and at one side of the casing respectively, one of which is closed or obturated by a stopper 27, when not in use. The stopper may be carried on an angular strip 26 clamped against the inside wall of the casing by the collar of the cable entry sleeve 24. A clamp 28 is pivoted at 29 to one half of the casing and is. swung into axial alignment with either of the cable entry openings to secure the cable, its free end being secured by a screw 30 or 31.
