Abstract

613,155. Wrenches. AKTIEBOLAGET W. D. BERGMAN. May 15, 1946, Nos. 14662 and 14663. Convention dates, May 15, 1945, and Feb. 7, 1946. [Class 61 (iii)] A steel spanner head is laminated and interleaved with the laminated end of a light metal handle. The handle 10 is provided with a projection 16 which fits in a corresponding groove in the head 12. Rivets &c. may secure the head in place, and a wedge 32 is forced in between the base 28 of the head groove and the end of the projection 16. In a modification, the projection 16 is made the same shape as the head, and plates of steel are fixed on both sides to form the head. In a further modification, the head 12 is formed with a projection, and a light metal handle is cast around it, suitable keying holes being provided. In all three embodiments the connecting portion of the handle is wider than the rest of the handle.
