Abstract
612,883. Epicyclic gearing. MATHIS SOC. ANON. June 4, 1946, No. 16987. Convention date, March 19, 1942. [Class 80 (i)] [Also in Group XXXIV] In a planetary gear train comprising a driving sun-wheel 1, fixed annulus 2 and a plurality of planet-wheels 4 carried by a cage 3, an elastically deformable member 6 supports the journal 5 of each planet-wheel 4. The axial lengths of the bearing surfaces 12, 13 are made small to permit a bending deformation of the member 6 of any planet gear which is inaccurately positioned with respect to the system. In a modification, Fig. 4, the ends of planet spindles 14 are fixed in side plates 7, 8 and' a central supporting surface 15 thereon engages an elastic bush 6. Flanges 16 on the planet journal 5 bear against the ends of the bush 6. In this arrangement the bush 6 flexes when the planet gear 4 is subjected to load.
