611,948. Planing or forming, and rebating wood. WHALE, C. V. May 14, 1946, No. 14495. [Class 145 (i)] A conversion set, for use in carrying out planing, or forming, and rebating in a lathe, includes a rotary cutter 1 having a spindle engageable in the lathe spindle and adapted to be driven thereby and a casting 6 mounted directly on the lathe bed with means such as the screw 8 and pad 9 for adjusting it and locking it on the lathe bed, the said casting carrying a work table 7 for supporting the work to be treated. The work table may be adjustable in height with respect to the cutter, being hinged at 11, the opposite side being capable of being raised or lowered, for example, by a nut 13 on screw 12, the table being then locked in position by locking-nut 15. The work table may be formed with a step 16 to maintain the flatness of the work piece after it has passed the cutter blades.
