608,451. Attache-case fastenings. CHENEY & SON, Ltd., C. W., and CHENEY, C. W. Feb. 25, 1946, No. 5727. [Class 44] In fastenings of the type having a manuallyoperated, slidable knob for withdrawing the bolt and a rotatable ring-member arranged concentrically of the knob to block the withdrawal of the bolt, the ring member 8 is rotatably united with a centre-piece 7 to constitute a permanently assembled knob unit. The centre member is connected to the bolt 3 by ears 18 and the ring member has operating knobs and a cam-piece 12 to co-operate with an abutment 14 to resist retraction of the bolt. The ring member carries lugs 20, which are closed over the rim 17 of the centre member 7, the bearing surface between the two being of conical form.
