Abstract
607,336. Pipe couplings. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Jan. 30, 1946, No. 3018. Convention date, Feb. 1, 1945. [Classes 99 (i) and 99 (ii)] Two conduits are connected through an intermediate conduit so as to permit relative axial, angular, and rotational displacements. The intermediate conduit 4 is joined to the conduit 2 by a ball-joint 5 so as to permit relative angular and rotational displacement, and to the conduit 1 by a ball-and-slip joint 9, 10, which permits axial displacement. The latter joint is enclosed by a flexible bellows 12 hermetically sealing the conduits 1 and 4. The ball-joint 9, 10, may be omitted in which case the conduit 4 is made to project into the conduit 1.
