Abstract
606,366. Circular loom shedding-mechanism. COOPER, H. J. Jan. 12,1946, No. 1159. [Class 142(ii)] Shedding means for circular looms comprise oscilltatable shedding blades 6 and non-oscillatable spacers 7 slidably mounted on a member 2 of ring or segmental form which has an outer peripheral projection or projections 3 supported in fixed brackets 4. The shedding blades are formed with noses 19 the shoulders of which are operated on by cam surfaces on a rotary ring 5 arranged below the member 2 so as to select the shedding blades for oscillation or non-oscillation by shedding cams on the ring 5, the shedding cams acting on the lower ends of horns 14 provided on the blades. The spacers 7 are associated with a guide ring 35 which keeps the warp threads between warp-guiding parts 34 of the spaces and allows each warp thread to keep clear of its shedding blade until it reaches the end 13 thereof. In a modification, the noses on the shedding blades are dispensed with, the cam surfaces being suitably modified.
