(Class 4] An aeroplane is provided with three propulsion units, preferably of the jet type, one of which, 2, is mounted in the fuselage 1, the others 5 being mounted in housings 4 at the tips of the wings 3,. such an arrangement resulting in reduction of the wing tip vortices. To facilitate take-off, aerofoil section drop tanks 6 are attached to the housings, to form extensions to the main wings 3.
