Abstract
605,835. Walls. JENSEN, J. Jan. 7, 1946, No. 543. Convention date, Jan 4, 1939. [Class 20(iv)] In a wall wherein plates 4, 5, Fig. 3, of asbestos cement, wood fibre or other material are mounted on vertical and horizontal supports 20 with interposed ribbed packing strips 1, gaps devoid of filling are left between the plates and the packing strips are wider than the gaps. In order to permit limited movement of the plates due to variations in temperature, humidity &c., the plates are secured to the supports by screws &c., 7 which are independent of the screws &c. fixing the packing strips to the supports and these screws 7 pass with clearance through apertures in the plates. The horizontal packing strips are provided with water noses 12, Fig. 2. The plates are supported by hooks 13 secured to the horizontal supports and engaging the bottoms of the plates; the tops of the plates stop short of the under faces of the water noses.
