Abstract
605,644. Two-part couplings. ROTTENBURG, H. Jan. 1, 1946, No. 119. [Class 38 (i)] A lamp adaptor comprises two blocks 1, 2 hinged at 3 and held apart by a spring 6, semicylinders 9, 10 on the blocks, when closed together, forming an adaptor to fit a lamp holder, and carrying contacts 13, 14 which abut the plunger contacts in the holder and are provided with terminals 16 for the leads. Plug pins 20 are slidably mounted in the contacts, thereby permitting the adaptor to be used as a two-pin plug. The pins are provided with a groove and a bayonet or other catch which is engaged by a grub-screw in the contacts, and are ejected by a rod 24 passing through the terminals.
