Abstract

Medicinal cigarettes especially suitable for treating asthma, are made from leaves of plants of the genus Datura, e.g. Datura stramonium, which are cut into fine strips or threads while dried, but still pliant, and then made up into cigarettes in the normal manner. The leaves may first be treated with a weak nitrate solution. A filter tip, comprising a coarse coil of paper, or crepe paper may be added.
