602,673. Tobacco pipes. LAVIETES, D. P. Nov. 8, 1945, No. 29812. Convention date, Nov. 23, 1944. [Class 130] The mouthpiece and stem of a tobacco pipe are connected by members 16, 22, which are threaded into one another, one member being fixed to the stem and the other frictionally engaging a sleeve 20 fixed to the mouthpiece, or vice versa. The mouthpiece can thus be turned angularly after the parts have been screwed together. The sleeve 16 is milled or roughened before being forced into its socket and it may be secured by cement. The sleeve 20, preferably made of plastic material, is retained on the'member 22 by a screw 23, and then forced into a socket in the mouthpiece in which it is retained by cement, solvent or heat. The smoke passage may have a liner 31.
