Abstract

602,543. Sliding-clasp fastenings. PLASCO, Ltd. (Crown Fastener Corporation). Oct. 16, 1945, No. 27107. [Class 44] A locking slider for a sliding-clasp fastening comprises a channeled slider body, the upper wall 20, Figs. 1 and 2, of which has an aperture for the passage of a locking prong 36, and is provided with U-shaped sockets 24, 25 arranged as shown to receive the outwardly flanged ends of a pull-supporting bar 28. The cross-bar 31 of the pull engages under the prong 36 which is biassed by a spring 34 so that the end 42 normally engages between fastener elements 14, and is so shaped that movement of the bar 31 in either direction releases it from locking position. A projection 38 on the upper wall of the slider forms a pivot for the prong 36. A modified form is shown in Fig. 6, the upper wall 10 of the slider, with sockets 30, 31, and the pull-supporting bar 28, being shown in Figs. 8 and 9.
