Nov. 19, 1945, No. 30977: [Class 83 (iv)] In a machine for crescenting the ends of tubes, a mandrel b secured on a rod a carries a-crescent-shaped recess with which a shearing tool e co-operates. The tube to be sheared is mounted on the mandrel b and the tool e is guided in a member c. The work may be positioned by a collar g slidable on the rod a by a hand lever and serving also as an ejector. One face of the collar may be shaped to fit a previously crescented tube end. The tube may be positioned between the crescented mandrel b and the rod a.
