[Class 39(ii)] In a battery lamp of the kind wherein a detachable cap or cover 2 carrying a bulb holder and a switch is fitted over one end of the battery 1 in order to dispense with a separate casing, an aperture 11 is provided in either or both sides of the cap 'to allow access to the leaf spring contacts 9. 10 of the battery for the purpose of adjusting them relative to the push-button switch 4 and the centre contact of the bulb R. The aperture 11 may be closed by a slide or cover which may consist of transparent material. The bulb 8 may be located within a well or recess 7 in the end cap 2, or protected by lateral wings.
