Abstract
601,499. Attaching vehicle lamps to supports. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and NEILL, R. L. Oct. 3, 1945, No. 25734. [Class 75(iii)] A vehicle lamp body a and a socket d arranged within the lamp body and adapted to receive a bracket c are formed with contiguous surfaces of spherical or equivalent form to allow relative angular adjustment, external means p being provided for securing the socket and the lamp body adjustably together independently of the bracket c. The socket d may consist of a metal shell e containing a slotted rubber block f to receive the bracket c inserted through a slot b in the lamp body a, and the shell e may be held to the lamp body by a bolt j engaging a nut o secured to, or integral with a finger piece p. When the nut o is loosened relative angular adjustment of the socket and the lamp body may take place by allowing the bolt j to slide in a slot m in the lamp body. The bolt j may have a rounded head u abutting against the rear face of the bracket c, and a screw t may be provided in the front of the shell e to engage a hole or depression in the bracket to prevent theft.
