600,647. Lids of saucepans &c. SINGER, O. May 1, 1946, No. 32504/45. [Class 66] The lid b of a saucepan a has an external skirt b<1> so that hot gases from e.g. a gas ring beneath the saucepan are directed along the sides of the saucepan, slots b<2> allowing the gases to escape e.g. to a like jacketed space c of a saucepan above. The lid b has also holes b4 allowing escape of steam which may pass away through openings b<6>, condensate returning through the holes b4. The top of the handle d of the lid is lower than the top of the condensate well b<3>.
