Abstract

599,766. End-closures for metal containers. BARNES, F. J. T. Sept. 24, 1945, No. 24691. [Classes 21 and 66] An end-closure 13 for the bottom of a metal container for fluids is provided with a drain channel 12 the outer end-wall 14 of which is upright and formed with an aperture 15 for connecting the drain channel to a bung-hole tube 16 extending outwardly from the end-wall 14. The drain channel may, as shown, be formed integrally with the end-closure or it may be formed separately and be flanged on some or all of its sides for attaching it to the end-closure. Further, the drain channel may have the bunghole tube formed integrally therewith or, as shown, attached thereto. Specifications 428,703 and 534,628 are referred to.
