Abstract

598,442. Combined printing and embossing machines. ROYAL LACE PAPER WORKS. Sept. 4, 1945, No. 22707. Convention date, Dec. 13, 1944. [Class 100 (ii)] Decorative materials such as shelf edgings are made by printing a backing-web b by means of a printing-couple p, p<1>, and uniting the same to a facing web f of transparent plastic material by means of a thermoplastic cement, or by the bonding by heat if both webs are of plastic material. As shown the webs are simultaneously united and embossed by embossing rollers e, e<1> adapted to register with the printed impressions, so that in the finished product the printed impression is arranged between the front and back layers and in register with the embossed design.
