Abstract
598,229. Finishing fabrics. STRAKE, L. TE. June 28, 1941, No. 8169. [Class 42 (i)] Knitted fabrics are made to simulate woven fabrics by a process comprising fulling, washing, drying, stretching and finally treating with steam. The steamed fabric may be subjected to-roughening. The fabric may be knitted upon a warp machine either in tubular form or in the flat. The fulling may be performed in a trough containing a solution of Marseilles soap at 25‹ C., and is carried out until the shrinkage is more than 20 per cent, and preferably from 40 to 50 per cent.
