Abstract
596,432. Cathode-ray tubes. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Nov. 30, 1944, No. 23889. Convention date, Nov. 30, 1943. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XX] A cathode-ray tube 3 is held in a predetermined position with respect to a concave spherical mirror 7 and and correcting plates 9 correcting for spherical aberration, for optical projection purposes, by engaging the screen end 5 of the tube against a mount 13. The mount 13 comprising an annulus on single arm 15, or alternatively the tips of three radially-arranged arms 15, is adjustable in position to determine the optimum position of the screen end 5. In another embodiment, Fig. 4, the mount is constituted by the mirror 47 itself, the optical system comprising in addition to the concave mirror 47 and correcting plate 45, a plane mirror 49. The cathode-ray tubes are held against the mounts by springs 31.
