Abstract
595,450. Shearing. STEVENS, A. H. (Fabriksaktiebolaget Haldataxametern). June 26, 1944, No. 12128. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Jan. 27, 1945.] [Class 83 (iv)] Shear-blades.-In a tool-holder for a plate shearing machine having a fixed and a reciprocating tool, one of the tools is adjustable laterally by means of a rotatable sleeve mounted on the holder and having an inner eccentric guide surface which bears on one side of the tool. The lower arm 7 of the machine has a vertical bore within which is a rotatable holder 6 having in its upper end a radial recess 8 within which is mounted the stationary tool 2. Mounted within the upper part of the bore and surrounding the upper part of the holder 6 is a rotatable sleeve 11 whose axis is coincident with the axes 12 of the holder 6 and of the upper reciprocating tool 1. The inner surface of the sleeve is however eccentric and bears against the outer side of the tool 2 which may thus be adjusted laterally relatively to the tool 1 by releasing a wedge 13, rotating the sleeve 11 and again tightening the wedge through a screw 14. A screw 15 allows the tool 2 to be adjusted longitudinally. After releasing a screw 20, the holder, sleeve and tool may be rotated as a whole and set at different angles a corresponding rotation of the upper tool 1 also being necessary.
