Abstract

593,283. Convertible seats. DOLPHIN, J. R. V., CLARK, G. H., and NEWITT, D. M. June 7, 1945, No. 14456. [Class 52(ii)] In a seat which may be converted into a bunk or divan, the back portion 5 is pivotally connected to the seat portion 4 which is carried on pivoted arms 2, 3, and when the seat portion is pulled forward it is simultaneously moved upward, whilst retaining its normal horizontal position, connecting links 14 causing the back portion 5 to be moved substantially into alignment with the seat portion 4. An auxiliary detachable back rest 18 gives greater comfort to an occupant of the chair.
