Abstract
A fertilizer or growth promoter for vegetable life is prepared by making an intimate mixture of commercial extract of chlorophyll and yeast or other organism containing zymase, and potassium nitrate, the latter preferably being added to a dough-like mixture of chlorophyll and yeast. The proportions used may be 5 to 10 parts of yeast to 1 part of chlorophyll and 5 to 20 parts of potassium nitrate. The mixture may be used dry or water may be added to form a semi-liquid mass or a solution. Other substances which may be added singly or in combinations are, a manganese salt, such as potassium permanganate, growth hormones, copper sulphate, silver nitrate potassium iodide and bromide, zinc sulphate and metallic salts used in hydroponics. Those salts which precipitate on standing may be added just before using. The water used in the process, or any of the solution formed therefrom may be treated electrically by connecting one end of an insulated wire to a magneto or sparking coil and placing the other end in the solution; alternatively, the solution may be exposed to daylight or sunlight by rotation therein.
