Abstract

590,378. Telephone receivers. STEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., and BONE, R. S. Dec. 29, 1944, No. 26060. [Class 40 (iv)] In a telephone receiver, the ear-cap 12, to which may be attached the housing 8 containing the electromagnetic unit 5, is movable relatively to the main housing 1 by pressing the ear-cap against the ear, this relative movement operating switch contacts 13, 14 to vary the current in the receiver. As shown, the contacts 13, 14 are carried on the housing 8 and are operated by a, pin 15 on contact 14 engaging the back wall of housing 1. The contacts may control the connection or disconnection of a shunt path through a resistance or inductance. Specifications 547,728 and 570,291 are referred to.
