588,966. Stands. ECKMANN, E. Feb. 13, 1946, No. 4432. [Class 128] A stand 1 for teapots, jugs, bottles and the like formed of heat resisting material such as an artificial resin to which is applied a piece of felt or other liquid-absorbing material 2 has attached at diametrically opposite points flexible members adapted either to be passed over the top of the vessel to retain a lid if necessary, to be hooked to the open edge of the vessel or to be attached to the neck of the vessel by a ring. As shown each holder, which consists of a small piece of chain connected to a piece of elastic material and covered with a flexible sleeve 3, is secured by a hook 8 at one end to the stand. The free ends are connected together by two pieces of elastic material 4 adapted to be passed round the knob of the lid. The connections 4 may be replaced by hooks adapted to engage over the rim of a jug or by a felt-padded ring to be passed over the neck of a bottle. Hooks 8 and the length of chain may be dispensed with, the holders being entirely of flexible elastic material attached directly to the stand.
