588,705. Vertical tube flowmeters. FISCHER & PORTER CO. April 18, 1945, No. 9717. Convention date, April 18, 1944. Addition to 588,663. [Class 69 (i)] In a flowmeter as described in the parent Specification, the vertically-varying area available for fluid-flow is afforded by a byepass opening or openings in the metering tube becoming uncovered as the flow-constricting head moves along the tube. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the tube 110 has a plurality of slots 113, whilst Fig. 4 shows a tube 141 having a series of openings 143 patterned spirally.
