588,412. Securing panels. MONCKTON, J. Feb. 16, 1945, No. 3960. [Class 20 (iv)] [Also in Groups XIV and XXX] Fastening means for securing strips for retaining decorative or structural panels in position to form walls comprise a pair of limbs which contact or cross at one point, one end of each limb engaging with a base and the other ends engaging within a hollow in a strip. The limbs, one or both of which are resilient, contact at 2 within an opening 3 in the strip 4 and have portions 5 engaging with the hollow in the strip and portions 7 which are either forced together from their normal position a so that feet 8 engage under lips 9 on the base 10 or are clamped to a flange on the base. In a modification (not shown), the limbs 1 cross at the opening 3 and the feet are forced outwards under the lips 9 by a nut and screw arrangement.
