587,484. Spraying crops. PEST CONTROL, Ltd., DORMAN, A. K., and NORMAN, F. R. Aug. 31, 1944, No. 16579. [Class 69 (iii)] Each side 'spray support of a crop &c. spraying machine is hinged, e.g. at 6 to form at least two sections 1 and 7 so that they can be folded into smaller lengths, in a horizontal vertical or inclined plane alongside the machine. To fold, a stay hook 12 is released and the section 1 is then pushed by hand or power inwards, pivoting about the hinge 2. The arrangement of a chain 11 and spring 8 at the same time operates a bell crank lever 5, whereby the link 10 folds the outer section 7 about its hinge 6 to lie against its inner section 1. The outer part 7 may also be arranged to lift vertically on a horizontal hinge. Specifications 557,068 and 572,556 are referred to.
