Abstract

586,321. Valve generating circuits. PATTAMALY, E. S. V. June 2, 1944, No. 10662. [Class 40 (v)] In a valve generating circuit, the feed-back, obtained from a centre-tapped anode transformer 12, is connected to two similar grids g<1>, g<2> so that the applied voltages are 180 degrees out of phase. By this arrangement the frequency obtained in the output transformer 17. is twice the fundamental frequency' of the tuned circuit 12, 16a, 16b. Bias, by battery 26, is applied such that the anode current due to one grid is cut off as the current due to the other grid begins to flow. In Fig. 2 (not shown), a valve having four similar grids is employed and the output from the anode is passed through two transformers so as to produce a two-phase voltage for feeding to the four grids. In this way the frequency obtained is four times the fundamental frequency of the tuned circuits. By inserting a suitable filter in the output, higher harmonics may be selected.
