Abstract

586,215. Slide rules. WALTER, E. J., and LANSDOWN, R. Sept. 21, 1944, No. 17996. [Class 106 (i)] A slide rule comprises three discs 10, 11, 12 and a cursor arm 20. The central disc 10 has a logarithmic scale 19 on each side, the upper disc 11 has a single logarithmic scale and the lower disc 12 has scales 15, 16, 17 of log. cosines, log. sines and log. tangents respectively. In a modification, all the discs are of equal diameters, the upper and lower discs being transparent.
