Abstract

585,724. Hammers. STEPHENS, W. R., and STEPHENS BELTING CO., Ltd. (trading as THOR HAMMER CO.). Aug. 8, 1944, Nos. 15055 and 17314. [Class 61 (ii)] A striking piece a made of any metallic or non-metallic material is attached to a knob b to be held in the hand by means of a circular metal piece c having around its periphery a shallow flange d which is rolled into a corresponding groove f in the striking piece. The metal piece c may be attached to the knob by screws &c. Modifications are described in which a similar striking piece may be attached by similar means to any part of a key used for actuating a lathe chuck or to the tommy-bar inserted through or attached to the key stem and also two striking pieces attached to a hammer head in a similar manner are described.
