Abstract

580,515. Collapsable cases. ROSE, W. E. P. Oct. 5, 1944, No. 19089. [Classes 18 and 133] A collapsable case is formed with a flexible cover on a framework constructed in two halves each comprising inner and outer members connected at the corners by folding arms. As shown inner and outer members 2, 3 formed of metal tubes, wooden bars or flat metal are hinged to knuckle arms 4, 5 pivoted together and provided with a spring 12 to hold them in open or closed position. A strengthening metal bar 8 extends along the top of the inner member 2 for the attachment of locks and handles. Supporting straps round the outside of the case and textile &c. straps diagonally from the inner top to the outer bottom of each half may also be provided.
