Abstract
580,126. Suspending curtains. ELLWOOD, F. P., and LISTER, S. H. April 21, 1944, No. 7449. [Class 52 (v)] In curtain suspensions of the kind having a tubular rail 10 with a bottom longitudinal slit 11 along the edges of which run grooved rollers or balls 18 carrying extensions 14 of the curtain pins or hooks 13, a cord 31 for pulling the curtain 12 in one direction is attached to one of the extensions 14 and passes through the tubular rail, and another cord 33 for pulling the curtain in the other direction is attached to the same extension and passes outside the rail and through a guide tube 36 at the end of the rail. The extensions 14 comprise flat plates or bent wire members with apertures or loops engaging the grooves in the balls or rollers. The end supports for the rail comprise brackets 22 with spigots 23 over which take slidable sockets 27 on the ends of the rail. A central support comprises a bracket carrying a socket that receives.the rail ends and has a bottom slot corresponding to the slot in the rails. The cord guide 36 is carried by one of the brackets.
