[Class 20 (iv)] In a slab wall a waterproof packing element e, comprising a strip of yieldable material having portions of enlarged cross section at its ends, is compressed between inwardly projecting flanges b at the edges of adjacent slabs by the tightening of the bolts g which secure the slabs together. In the form shown the slabs are provided with recesses c in the peripheral flanges to receive the packing element which is shaped like a dumb-bell and is formed of rubber or bituminous felt. Any small space remaining may be filled with cement or mastic i.
