Abstract
Therapeutic sulphonamide compounds are prepared by the interaction of an aminoacridine with a sulphanilylaminodimethylpyrimidine. The resultants are preferably interacted in solution, and in molecular amounts. The preferred amino-acridines are 2 : 8-diamino-acridine and 5-amino-acridine. Instead of employing the above reactants themselves, there may be used which generate these reactants on admixture. In examples: (1) 0.02 mol. of 5-amino-acridine is added to a hot alcoholic solution of 0.02 mol. of sulphadimethylpyrimidine. The desired compound separates on cooling; (2) 0.01 mol. of 2 : 8-diamino-acridine and 0.01 mol. of p sulphadimethylpyrimidine are interacted in boiling water.
