Abstract
577,125. Photographic projection printing apparatus. PULLIN OPTICAL CO., Ltd., and BAIGENT, E. W. May 9, 1944, No. 8821. [Class 98 (i)] A board for holding the light-sensitive sheet is provided with slidable masking bars, to the inner edge of each of which is hinged a strip which can be raised for insertion of the paper, and then turned down to retain and mask the paper. As shown, the board 1 has edge-rails 2, guiding slides 7 carrying crossed pairs of masking bars, one pair 9, 10 of thin metal resting on the board, and the other pair 11, 12 of stout metal metal raised.from the board by downturned ends 13 and spacing blocks 14. Hinged to the bars 9, 10 are narrow strips 15 rotatable by levers 17, and to the bars 11, 12 wider strips 18 rotatable by levers 19. After adjusting the slides 7 with the aid of scales 20 to the size of paper in use, the slides are clamped by screws 8, the four strips 15, 18 are raised, and 'the paper is placed in position on the board. The strips are then turned down to retain and mask the paper. Paper-locating stops, e.g. 21, are provided on the underside of one of each pair of bars, and are accommodated in grooves 22, 23 in the board. One of the bars 10 may have on its .hinge a tongue 25, which rests normally in a groove 26 in the board, but may be raised by depressing a thumb-piece 24 to raise the edge of the paper to facilitate its removal. The raised bars 11, 12 serve to support a glass plate and masks for producing cloud and like effects.
