Abstract

576,377. Gas-heated oven stoves. JONES. J. F., MUIRHEAD, D. P., and JONES & CAMPBELL, Ltd. April 14, 1944, No. 6907. [Classes 75 (i) and 126] In a gas heated oven stove of the kind provided with an externally heated oven enclosed by side walls 6, back wall 7, top 8 and door 10 and spaced at the sides, back and top from an insulated casing 13, 14 by flues 16, 23 at the sides and top and a back flue, and also having the lower ends of the side flues open to admit combustion products supplied by burners 17, the gases are caused to take a tortuous course through the flues by baffles 19, 20, 25 on their way to the outlet 26 at the back of the stove. The air entrances to the side flues 16 are bevelled at 18. The air supplied to the burners passes through pipes 27, Fig. 5, arranged at the lower parts of the side flues and is heated by the gases, the exterior of the pipes being provided with fins, if desired, to increase the heating surface. The burner mixing tube 31 may be provided with a spirally wound strip 32 inserted by remov:ng the gas nozzle 30.
