Abstract
575,783. Cooking food. SPOONER, W. W. March 21, 1944, No. 5216. [Classes 28 (i) and 49] Foodstuffs are cooked by directing streams of hot air or gas upon the outer surface of an open vessel containing the foodstuff in oil or fat, and also, or alternatively, upon the foodstuff in oil or fat within the vessel, the temperature of the air or gas streams being less than the flash point of the oil or fat. In an example, air fed by the circulating fan 4 by way of the tubular heater 5 is directed from the nozzles 3 in the chamber 2 in which is the pan 1. From the chamber 2 the air returns by way of the duct 6 to the fan 4. For the pan there may be provided a lid in the form of a closed chamber which has nozzles and is connected with the hot air supply. Specification No. 552,016 is referred to.
